The Upper Clutha Messenger is an established weekly publication written for the community, by the community and distributed free-of-charge across the Upper Clutha region. The publication offers a platform for local businesses and organisations to connect to the local market and details what’s on in the community; offers a range of advertising opportunities; and includes independent and non-biased community stories and articles. In search of a fresh face for their existing website, the business approach White Light to give the publication a more professional, modernised online presence, improve the site’s navigation and establish the site’s responsiveness.

The re-designed interface is clean and clear with an easy navigation menu that ensures the site is relatable for the publication’s older readership and makes it easy for those time-poor end-users to find the information they need quickly. Each page features a bespoke illustration that adds a contemporary element to the design. The online booking and payment process for customers was streamlined to improve the site’s back-end usability and increase efficiency within the business.
